Visual vibration diagnostics (VibeDiag) and structural monitoring
Summary
VibeDiag measures a machine's vibration from a video recorded with a phone: it shows where it moves, at what frequency, and what is worth checking.
What you get
- Movement map on the video: the zones that move, marked on the image of the machine itself.
- Dominant frequencies and their equivalent RPM: how fast the machine vibrates, also expressed in revolutions per minute.
- Orbits by region: up to 12 regions per capture, each with its orbit and the name you give it ("north flange" instead of "region 3").
- Recording quality notice: tells you whether the recording is good enough to measure or whether you should record again.
- PDF report: the results, the marked regions and the capture details, in a document ready to file or send.
- Shareable video: the original video with the result layers on top, to show to maintenance, production or management.
- Typical findings it helps you check: unbalance, misalignment, looseness and resonance.
- Structural monitoring
BETA: natural frequencies of platforms, frames and pipe racks, compared against their baseline.
What you need
- A phone on a tripod or firmly supported, so the camera does not move.
- Good light on the machine.
- The machine running.
- A recording of about 10 to 60 seconds.
What it is not
VibeDiag does not replace a vibration analysis with instruments. It helps you decide where to look and which machines deserve a more detailed measurement.
