Getting started with Wertek AI
How it works (concept)
Wertek AI is organized as a simple chain: your user belongs to an organization, the organization has plants and areas, and inside them live the assets (motors, pumps, drives, panels, chillers). Everything else — measurements, work orders, alerts, energy — anchors to an asset.
The commercial principle is "Register unlimited. Manage what matters.": registering assets is free and unlimited on every plan. A registered asset is born as an orphan (visible, with a digital identity, at no cost). When you decide to manage it, you adopt it, and only adopted assets count against your plan limit. This lets you inventory an entire plant from day one and pay only for the equipment you choose to manage. The full detail of the orphan/adopted model is in asset identity.
There are two typical entry doors: create your account from scratch at app.wertek.ai, or arrive by scanning a QR tag stuck on a piece of equipment or on a Wertek monitoring kit — in both cases you end up in the same place: your organization with its assets.
First 15 minutes
- Create your account at app.wertek.ai ("Create your account" option). Registration has 3 steps:
- Work email and Password (or "Continue with Google" / "Continue with Apple").
- Full name and Organization name (optional — if you leave it blank, an organization is created with your name that you can rename later).
- "How will you use Wertek AI?": choose Client (monitoring and maintenance of your own assets) or Service Provider (you service assets for several clients). Press Create account.
- Confirm your email: you'll receive an activation link ("Check your email"). If it doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check spam or promotions.
- Register your first asset: in the sidebar, the Assets & Equipment group → Register Asset. A name, equipment type, and location are enough; add a photo if you can. The asset appears immediately in Assets with its digital identity and QR code.
- Did you buy a Wertek monitoring kit? Activate it on the "Activate your Wertek Kit" screen (or by scanning the QR on the box): enter the Kit Code (format like
AWT-2026-00001, on the box or in the confirmation email) and the Activation PIN (sticker inside the box). Once activated, you'll see data on your dashboard within the next few minutes.
Step-by-step flow
The recommended sequence to get an organization up and running:
- Account and organization — as in the previous section. The first user becomes the owner of the organization.
- First asset by whichever route suits you:
- Manual: Register Asset (individual entry with QR).
- Bulk: Import (CSV file with preview and validation before you confirm). When importing, you choose whether the equipment comes in as orphans (free) or straight into monitoring with the "Monitor (uses licenses)" option.
- Field scan: scan a QR/NFC tag from the mobile app and create or claim the asset right there — see mobile app.
- Minimum location structure: in Settings → Plants & Areas, create at least one plant and its main areas, and assign the assets. You don't need a perfect hierarchy on day one; it can be reorganized.
- Invite your team: in the Team menu (Maintenance group), the Invite Member button → email + Role (Owner, Admin, Supervisor, Technician, Viewer) → Send Invitation. The invitee must accept the invitation from their email to show up as active. Team management with multiple users requires the Monitoring plan or higher.
- Choose your plan: in Settings → Subscription you see your current plan and its usage (adopted assets, users, AI analyses). Summary: Free $0 (3 adopted), Technical $49 (30 adopted, diagnostics), Monitoring $149 (120 adopted, 5 users, team and Copilot), Prescriptive $349 (300 adopted, unlimited users), Enterprise custom. Common issues and fixes
- "I can't find my organization" when signing in — your user needs to be invited by the administrator of the existing organization, or to create a new organization at signup. If your company already uses Wertek AI, request the invitation before creating a standalone account.
- "I invited someone and they don't show up on the team" — the member must accept the invitation from their email. In the meantime they appear on the Pending tab of the Team page. Ask them to check spam; resend the invitation if needed.
- "I registered an asset and I don't see it" — verify you're viewing the correct plant/area, use the search on the Assets page, and if you just created it, refresh the page.
- "Plan limit reached" — only adopted assets count. You can un-adopt equipment you no longer manage to free up space, or upgrade your plan in Settings → Subscription.
- "I can't create a work order" — on the Free plan, work orders are read-only; creation is enabled starting with the Technical plan.
- "Session expired" — this is normal after several days of inactivity; sign in again. If it happens very frequently, clear your browser cache.
- "My kit code doesn't work" — verify the format (for example
AWT-2026-00001) and that the PIN is the one on the sticker inside the box. If the system reports the kit is already activated and you believe this is an error, write to [email protected].
What's next
With your account, first asset, and team invited, the next step depends on your goal:
- Tag the plant and adopt assets → asset identity (QR/NFC)
- Work from the field (scan, capture evidence, execute orders) → mobile app
- Condition diagnostics (vibration, ultrasound) → diagnostics
- Energy monitoring → energy
- Maintenance and work orders → CMMS
- Frequently asked questions → general FAQ
