Energy and power quality

Summary

Wertek AI's Energy module monitors electricity consumption and power quality across plants, buildings, and shopping centers using meters from multiple brands. It shows consumption and its estimated cost using the average price you set per site, tenant energy portals (multi-tenant submetering), power quality dashboards (power factor, THD, imbalance), and Mexican Grid Code compliance monitoring. It is the fastest way to know how much each area consumes, who should pay what, and whether the installation is at risk of a regulatory penalty.

The problem it solves

Most installations only know their energy through the utility's monthly bill: an aggregate number, weeks late, with no breakdown by area or by tenant. Shopping center and building managers prorate consumption "by eye" and absorb the differences. In industrial plants, a low power factor or high harmonics mean penalties and — with the Grid Code — direct regulatory risk: as of April 8, 2026, the power factor required of medium-voltage load centers ≥ 1 MW rises from 0.95 to 0.97, measured in 5-minute intervals, with compliance across 95% of the month's readings. Nobody who only sees a monthly bill can demonstrate (or manage) that compliance.

What it does

  • Multi-brand meter monitoring: periodic readings of voltage, current, and power per phase, power factor, imported/exported energy (bidirectional meters with solar generation are detected automatically), and THD. The integration library covers more than a dozen models from 10 brands (Eastron, Schneider Electric — including the LAPEM-certified ION 8650 —, Siemens, ABB, Carlo Gavazzi, Finder, Janitza, CHINT, SATEC, and Acrel with direct cellular connectivity), via the energy gateway or a cellular connection.
  • Consumption and cost: monthly consumption per meter and its cost, estimated with the average price per kWh you set for each site (from your bill) and always labelled as an estimate. If no price is set, the platform shows no money amounts instead of inventing them. Wertek does not compute tariff periods, demand charges, or power-factor penalties.
  • Tenant energy portal: public portals branded by the manager (logo and colors) where each tenant of a shopping center, building, or condominium sees their consumption for the month, their estimated bill, a 7-day chart, and live metrics — with no Wertek account needed. The manager creates the property, assigns meters to tenants, and shares the link. Full white-label mode is available depending on your plan. Automatic per-tenant collection is in development ROADMAP.
  • Multi-tenant energy allocation: a view for providers/managers that distributes consumption among tenants and units, with manual meter readings from the app when there is no connected meter.
  • Power quality: dashboards with power factor, voltage and current THD, voltage and current imbalance, and per-phase voltages/currents; consumption and anomalous-condition alerts. Voltage event detection (sags/swells) depends on your plan.
  • Capacitor bank monitoring: power-factor correction banks are managed as a dedicated asset class, with their own condition panel (the bank's electrical measurements, status, and alerts) — the equipment that corrects the power factor is watched too, instead of discovering its failures at the next penalty.
  • Grid Code compliance (Mexico): a dedicated "Grid Code" section that compares the five-minute measurements against regulatory limits (power factor 0.97 as of April 2026, voltage imbalance ≤ 2% and current imbalance ≤ 15%, THD per IEEE-519) and generates the compliance report.
  • Reports: energy reports from web and mobile app, and provider reports for multi-site managers; correlation of consumption with weather (temperature, radiation) to explain variations.

Benefits

  • Daily visibility, not monthly: consumption and power quality are seen in minutes, not on next month's bill.
  • Fair per-tenant billing: submetering with a dedicated portal eliminates blind proration and arguments with tenants.
  • Anticipate penalties: power factor and imbalance are watched at the same 5-minute granularity the regulation measures them with — corrected before the fine, with evidence.
  • Electrical anomaly detection: imbalances, high THD, or out-of-pattern consumption appear as alerts tied to the asset, feeding diagnostics and maintenance.
  • One module, many cases: industrial plant, shopping center, office building, or a site with solar generation all use the same platform.

Experience on the web platform

In Assets & Equipment → Energy lives the energy dashboard: meters, consumption and cost, power quality, and properties with their tenants and portals. In the Intelligence group, the Grid Code section concentrates regulatory compliance monitoring. Service provider organizations also have the Provider section with Meter Readings, Energy Allocation, and Reports. The tenant portal is a standalone public page accessed through the link the manager shares.

Experience on the mobile app

The mobile app includes the full energy module for field review: an energy home, a list and detail of meters with live metrics, and reports. For sites without a connected meter, it lets you capture manual meter readings associated with the asset. Energy alerts arrive in the unified alert center and as push notifications.

Availability by plan

The Energy module is billed per measurement point (device) monitored: a meter is a point like any other, and there are no separate Basic or Pro energy tiers. Consumption and cost, weather correlation, and Grid Code monitoring are capabilities of the energy module, available for sites with connected meters. Solar monitoring per inverter also exists.
