Drive Service Intelligence (DSI) and provider mode
Summary
Drive Service Intelligence (DSI) is Wertek AI's module for multi-brand variable frequency drives (VFDs/drives): live monitoring of status and alarms, a digital nameplate for the drive with its real age, per-component service windows, a factory maintenance plan in one click, and an auditable service history. Provider mode complements DSI for service companies: a dashboard where their customers' asset portfolio, their technicians' productivity and every visit are visible and verifiable. The angle: your work visible, your customers yours.
The problem it solves
Drives run pumps, fans, compressors and entire lines, yet almost no one monitors them: they're installed and forgotten until they trip. Their components age on a known schedule — fans and capacitors have a service life defined by the manufacturer — and even so, maintenance is done "when it fails" because nobody knows how old each drive is or when it was last serviced. The service history lives in the provider's folders or is lost with each staff change. And for service companies, good work is invisible: the customer never sees the visits, the findings or the value delivered. More context in market pain points.
What it does: drive monitoring and intelligence
- Live multi-brand monitoring: status, current, frequency, power, and alarms/warnings from the drive, with each alarm's text explained in Spanish and English. A multi-brand architecture via device profiles by brand, family and model (today Danfoss and ABB, expanding).
- Digital nameplate: the platform decodes the drive's serial number to obtain its manufacturing date, and lets you edit the nameplate with the real lifecycle data: installation date, last service or reconditioning, part number.
- Per-component service windows: with the drive's real age, DSI calculates when fan and capacitor services are due according to the manufacturer's recommendations, always anchoring to the most reliable data available: actual service > installation > manufacturing.
- Factory maintenance plan in 1 click: activates the manufacturer's recommended maintenance program (inspection, minor service, major service) and the platform generates the work orders automatically. A drive with overdue services shows up with its order overdue from day one — the entire fleet reveals its maintenance debt immediately.
- Real, auditable service history: completing an order re-anchors the cycle to the service actually performed; reschedules and cancellations are kept in an immutable record with who authorized them and why.
- Condition analytics: consumption (kW) versus frequency compared against the equipment's own baseline, and lifecycle alerts (onset and recovery verified by data) with noise suppression for intermittent events. The drive's measurements can be exported to Excel from its operation tab (24 h / 7 day / 30 day presets).
- The drive as a sensor of its load: what the drive detects about the motor or the load it drives (motor phase loss, motor over-temperature, torque limit, insulation stress) is attributed to the driven equipment, not the drive — each machine's history reflects its own failures. When the drive trips on protection (overcurrent, earth fault, short circuit), the event stays on the drive — which did its job — and the platform generates a recommendation about the probable cause on the motor/cable (for example, an insulation test before re-energizing). Requires declaring what the drive drives (Connections section).
What it does: provider mode (Provider Dashboard)
For service-provider organizations, the platform enables a dedicated section:
- Provider Dashboard: a summary of the customers served and their activity.
- Asset Economics: the portfolio of assets under contract with revenue and cost per asset per day, contracts and suggested actions.
- Productivity: technician-team KPIs across three layers — volume (orders and visits), speed (time on site, response time) and effectiveness, including sensor-verified resolution when the asset is monitored.
- Live Tracking: a map of the field technician team for the supervisor.
- Customer collaboration: the customer organization invites the provider to work on its assets with defined permissions; the provider can register assets in the field and invite the owner to claim ownership.
- Meter Readings and Energy Allocation: logging of hour meters/meters per asset and allocation of energy consumption to rented or contracted assets.
- Service Reports and team Schedule.
Benefits
- For the asset owner: the entire drive fleet with age, condition and maintenance debt visible; fewer surprise trips and replacement decisions backed by data.
- For the service company: every visit, finding and service is recorded and visible to the customer — the work stops being invisible and the history builds the relationship instead of being lost.
- History that outlives people: change the technician or the provider and the drive's lifecycle stays in the platform.
- Decision traceability: who postponed a service and why is recorded immutably.
Experience on the web platform
Drives live under Equipment → VFD: a list of drives with their status and a detail panel with measurements, explained alarms, an editable Nameplate section, service windows and the maintenance plan. The generated orders are managed in the Maintenance group (CMMS). Service companies also see the Provider section with Dashboard, Productivity, Live Tracking, Asset Economics, Meter Readings, Energy Allocation, Reports and Schedule.
Experience on the mobile app
The app includes the VFD section with the list of drives, each drive's detail and its alert center. Service technicians also use the full field workflow: on-site check-in/check-out, visit report, logging meter readings per asset, personal schedule and their own statistics. Scanning the cabinet's QR/NFC opens the drive directly.
Availability by plan
Drive monitoring is contracted per drive across three tiers (VFD Basic, VFD Plus and VFD Enterprise), as an add-on module to the cloud plans. Provider mode is available to organizations registered as service providers; some functions (such as energy allocation) require the Monitoring plan or higher. Amounts and detail in Plans and pricing, the authoritative document.
